Electrical Designer

Job description

Candidate will be responsible for the production and design of complete electrical systems (Power Distribution, lighting) for commercial, restaurant and retail projects. The candidate will work alongside other Mechanical/Electrical Designers and Engineers in a team-oriented environment. Additional responsibilities of the role include communicating with clients through various platforms (ie. Email, phone calls, Microsoft Teams, etc.) along with on-site inspections/surveys.

Knowledge of Electrical Safety Standard
Produce and/or evaluate technical design solutions.
Integrate best maintenance technologies into predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
Experience with design of electrical plans for commercial, retail and restaurant facilities including Power, Lighting, basic Fire Alarm and Distribution Systems.
Fluent communication skills for interacting with customers and suppliers. Must be able to clearly identify design criteria from Client and/or Landlord/Tenant agreements.

Qualifications

Completion of either a, 3-year Technologist degree or 2-year Electrical Technician.
Minimum of 5 years work experience in a relative field.
Experienced with Power Distribution Systems (up to 44kV).
Candidate MUST have a strong background in, and be very familiar with AutoCAD (Revit MEP is a strong asset).
Ability to present oral/written summaries of all necessary information to the affected personnel or organizations.
Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines.
Ability to translate key area and business needs into the right priorities and actions.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to lead a cross-functional team using Root Cause Analysis problem solving methodology.
